BLACK AND WHITE ABSTRACT PORTRAITS AND FIGURATIVE ART OF WOMEN.
It all started with a song. Sometimes a line in a song is the inspiration for a drawing/ painting. The ‘Gold’ Series was inspired by Andreya Triana’s song ‘Gold’ about feeling good about yourself. I wanted to put Gold paint in everything to relate that feeling to myself and to other women. I use music as inspiration and color to express emotion.
I was mainly working in black, white and different shades of grey to create these intimate abstract portraits of women either lounging, reflecting, taking a quiet moment for themselves to drink a cup of tea, enjoying being in their own skin. The touch of gold in each painting gives each woman a sense of value, self acceptance and joy. It’s ok to be you, because you are precious and worth loving.
