DRAWING A GIRL SIDE PROFILE WITH PENCIL
Hey! Just wanted to share my first ever time lapse illustration with you. Hopefully, its an ongoing endeavor ?. I’m not always comfortable sharing my process, especially when I make mistakes, but, I’m trying to be courageous. Feel free to ask any questions about my process or materials and of course, follow my channel for more process videos.
There will be lotssss of erasing and re-adjusting angles of the nose and mouth throughout this video. I always keep the reference photo close by to check that all the angles are accurate. You will see me often using my pencil to check the alignment of different aspects of the head.
I start of with a rough outline in a Prismacolor Col-Erase 20066 Scarlet Red Pencil. Once I am satisfied with this sketch, I then take a clean sheet of paper, and trace over my sketch. I then start adding more definition in the eyes and hair with darker Staedtler Mars Lumograph Graphite Pencils 2B, 4B, 6B. My favorite part is always adding more detail in the hair and shading on the face to make it more 3 dimensional.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this time-lapse of my drawing of a side profile portrait of Marina Nery. Thank you so much for watching.
