God knew when you rose
And when you fell
He saw your tears and
Kept a record of each.
God’s love is boundless
And even death could not
Separate you from his love.
You were fearfully and wonderfully
Made by God.
He knew you when you were being
Made in secret
In your mother’s womb.
His thoughts towards you
Were like the grains of sand
On the beach
Too many to number
That is how much God loved you.
He was with you from your first
Till your last breath.
He is always with you.

It took two weeks before I finally put pencil to paper to deal with the grief of losing my dear cousin last month. The process of drawing her has been painful, as I’ve sometimes drawn through tears, the minute her likeness began to evolve from the pencil marks on paper. But, it has also been a way to heal during this time as I think of her and the amazing person she was.
Her infectious laughter, her positive and generous spirit, her kindness will always live in my memory. I can think of no better way to honor her than to create art inspired by her and to be supportive of other creatives. She was a creative and inspiring person who always claimed the title of being my number one fan 🥰.
She was the first person ever to order prints of my art for us both and frame it. She took it with her wherever she lived and displayed it proudly. It was very humbling to know how much my art and creativity inspired her. She was also a talented artist and writer. I will miss her so much. I know that her passion for serving others and pursuing her creative goals wholeheartedly will leave a lasting impression on my heart. I am thankful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to know her and be able to consider her not just family, but a true friend. In her words “Miss you cuz *hug*” 😢🙏🏼😔
